Lamella Separator®

Lamella Separator Lamella Separator

Application

In nearly all fields of water treatment you will find sedimented particles in process and waste water, e.g. purification and thickening in chemical industry, waste water treatment, treatment of metal surfaces, pulp and paper, water treatment of wet process dust removers of power plants, recirculation of wash water in potato and vegetable industry, purification in biological cleaning processes, disposal industry and glass manufacturing.

In most cases, an efficient and space saving separation stage is a mandatory requirement for further processing or recycling of this water.

The Lamella Separators® of PWL Anlagentechnik meet these challenges to all intents and purposes and operate reliably with high efficiency.

Function

The liquid to be purified enters an especially sized inlet chamber between the inclined plates via a supply pipeline. The liquid enters the plates laterally via the inflow openings. It rises upwards between the plates into the drain channel equipped with throttle openings and leaves the separator via the drain pipeline. Sedimentation occures during the upward flow of the liquid to be cleaned. The solids sediment onto the plates and slide downwards into the sludge funnel.

The even distribution of the flow to each plate guarantees for optimal operation at high capacity. The lateral liquid entry into the sedimentation chamber between the plates prevents the solids sedimented on the plates being carried away when the liquid enters.
